The mediator meets with the parties at a neutral location where the parties can discuss the dispute and explore a variety of solutions. This is different from arbitration. The main distinction between the mediation and arbitration is who makes the final decision. With mediation, the final decision is a reached agreement between the two conflicting parties, while arbitration calls on an arbitrator to analyze the case details and reach a verdict.
